Spiritual Protection Bags

This article is part of Kallan's wonderful Sunday Stew. Please hop on over and read all the different flavors added by each chef. I know that you will love it!

Since the Veil is getting thinner, the ability to communicate with Other Side is becoming easier and easier. While most people relish this time of getting closer to their spirit friends, there are some that feel it and they dread it.
My older son is one of the "dreaders". Read my post about him HERE. He has always been able to see spirits to a higher degree than me. My son and one of friends came over for some more spiritual protection the other night.
After I performed the spell for my son that put his spirit in a jar, I've had some interesting results. This will also be a lesson to all of you that "board". Since I did the spell, I have not been able to speak to anyone but this spirit that I trapped, on the board. It was heinous. It was continually telling me that it was "assigned" to Curtis and that it was sent as a lesson. My spirit guide couldn't come through at all and honestly, it was getting tiring. I also had to wax the top of the jar. The lid kept loosening.
I spoke with Christian Day about it and he offered me a very simple solution, that in my aggravation, I didn't think of. (Thank you, Christian) He said to simply put the jar inside a ring of salt. It worked like a charm. My spirit guide, Orion, was able to come through and he informed me that the spirit had been lying, it was not assigned to Curt. I knew the little bastard (my nickname for it) was lying to me. But, I thought I would include this story so that you would understand how some spirits work and that you cannot fall for everything that is told to you on a board. This spirit had attached itself to my son because of his energy and it enjoyed being around him.
Now, I mentioned that my son brought a friend with him that also wanted help. I have his spirit in a jar also. I have performed the same spell for him. His was a psychic attack placed on him by a priest of Santeria. It happened when he was still a teenager, in Florida. He has known for the past few years that something just wasn't right, and he felt like he was being followed. My spirit guide confirmed this during our board session.
Since both boys were having trouble with spirits, I thought that I would make protection bags for them to carry to keep the spirits at bay. They are a little different in their contents and I am going to walk you through the steps for each.
We will do Curtly's (my nickname for him) first. He is open to spirits constantly, so in his I included items to ground him.

The stones used in his:
Tiger's eye: This stone helps to keep away unwanted spirits
Citrine: Helps to ward the negativity that can be caused by spirits.
Clear Quartz: This one helps to turn the negative energy to good energy, if there is any that gets past the citrine.
Red Jasper: Good for cleaning and stabilizing the aura
Hematite: To help with grounding
Howlite: This stone is great for protecting against unwanted spirits.
and finally his totem which is an elephant made of dolomite
Dolomite: Excellent for balancing the spiritul, emotional, and physical features of a person

For the herbs in Curt's I used:
Cinnamon (pictured above): General protection and to ward negative energies (I would be lying if I didn't say that I also had future girlfriends in mind
Dragon's Blood (pictured above): Protection from all evils
High John Root (pictured above): please forgive my misspelling of conqueror in the pic, I had only had one cup of coffee and I saved before I fixed it. High John is just a good all around root, and it is great for psychic protection.

Hawthorn Berries: Good general protection
Angelica: Great for banishing evil spirits

Nettle: Protect against psychic attacks and to remove negative energies

For Curtly's friend, his will be a little different, but not much. I will tweak his for more of a psychic attack protection.

He got the same stones as Curtis, minus the totem, and add an amethyst.

Amethyst: Protection against witchcraft

For his herbs he got a little different mix.

He was given the dragon's blood, hawthorn, nettle, high john, and cinnamon like Curt, but I also added:

Dill: general protection and protection against psychic attacks

Clove: This is a great protection against intentional magical attack and psychic attack

Pennyroyal: protection against psychic attacks

Blue Vervain: protection and peace

Vetiver root: this root strengthens the body's auric field and offers protection

Then as an afterthought, I added Mandrake to both bags:

Mandrake: good all around protection

Needless to say, their small bags were packed. But, they both were happy with them. I forgot to take a picture of the finished bags, but there is one of them in second picture of the stones, to show you what I used.

I hope this helps anyone that needs a protection as the veil thins. If you have any questions or comments regarding this, please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Brightest blessings,

Loren

Spirit Communication Aids

*This article is also part of Kallan's wonderful Sunday Stew. Please hop on over there (when you are finished here) and read all of my friend's contributions. Trust me, you will love the flavor that each chef has to offer :)

Spirit board and matching planchette made by yours truly. This crow
and pumpkin spirit board will be a giveaway item in one of the upcoming
Samhain Siren giveaways that starts October 1st! Make sure that you don't miss out on it!

My oh my, when I started my blog I never even thought that I would be doing so many posts on spirit communication. I was making a blog for my artwork and maybe an occasional post or two on spirit communication......lol, so I thought anyway. I have been letting the spirits lead me and this is where they have gone. So, it looks like you will have another post on spirit communication boys and girls. After all, the veil is thinning. No time like the present to learn more, right?

Today's post will be about gemstones, crystals, herbs and incenses that will aid you in your spiritual communications. I will be adding pics of everything with the descriptions because I just hate to read about an herb or a stone and not see what in the world it looks like.

All of the pics are of my own herbs and my rock and gemstone collection.

Now, of course you don't need ALL of these. Just a couple will be fine. I'm just listing them so you can see what properties they aid in and you can make your choices. I have an extensive collection of herbs, because I grow them and I have been collecting rocks and minerals for 20 years.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

Sage and Myrrh
Before you begin you should cleanse your work area with sage. Myrrh is always a great addition to that because it aids in removing negativity. I use these before any spirit work that I do. During my work I burn herbs that aid in communication, these are discussed in a bit. Sometimes, I also add in a bit of frankincense. Frankincense is good for calming your mind and awakening your spiritual awareness. So, using them all together pre-work will get you in the right frame of mind and prepare your area.

Gemstones and Stones

Selenite

This beautiful stone helps you to attain higher states of consciousness by calming and focusing the mind. It fine tunes spiritual contact and it enhances the energies of any other crystals that you may be using.

I love Selenite. It is a beautiful stone and it is also useful for cleansing your aura. This is definitely a stone to have in your communication collection.

Blue Lace Agate

Blue lace is a stone that is connected to the throat chakra and the third eye chakra, so that makes it a great stone for spirit communication. It aids in meditation and can also bring peace to an overactive mind. It also helps to cleanse your aura.

Quartz

Like selenite, quartz is an amplifier. However, quartz is the ULTIMATE amplifier. It trumps selenite.  It not only boosts the other crystals you use, it will concentrate your energies towards your goal.  It helps you connect  and speak with your spirit guide and it creates a bond to the spirit realm. This is one that you don't want to miss out on and if you could only pick one, this would be it.

Amethyst

Amethyst is my personal favorite......because hello? Purple! I love this stone! As you can see, it comes in a variety of purple shades, but that is not what makes it such a great little communicator. What amethyst does is open up your upper chakras so that you are able to reach higher states of consciousness, which in turn helps your intuition and clears your energy pathways. It aids in concentration and helps alleviate fears. This stone doesn't just cleanse the aura, it protects it.

Citrine

I named the big one in the back of this pic Coffee cake. It looks like a piece of coffee cake to me.

Anyway, this is a good stone to use when practicing automatic writing, because it helps to make you more intuitive by aligning your chakras with the ethereal plane.

Celestite

Here we have another blue stone. That's a good rule of thumb. Sky blue equals spirit communication.

Celestite is a gorgeous stone, it just sparkles. It helps in opening your connections to higher realms by helping you to relax and clearing your thoughts. It will help strengthen your link to higher beings, like angels or your spirit guide.

Prehnite

You probably can't see it very well, but this is a light green stone. It is a darker sage green color.

Prehnite will help your receive communications from angels and spirit guides. It will also help you to listen to the wisdom from your Higher Self. Definitely a good stone to have.

Moldavite

The reason that I am holding the stone up in this pic is because moldavite is kind of translucent. So that when you hold it up, you can kind of see through it. It is a more rare and pricier stone. Even small pieces are a bit costly. Moldavite is a tektite. Meaning that it comes from a meteorite crash. Moldavite comes from Moldauthein, Czechoslovakia. It is glass bottle green.

Moldavite works by elevating your consciousness to the highest of the spiritual dimensions. It also enhances the effects of any other crystals that you may be using by taking them to their highest vibrations. It also enables communications with your Higher Self and it promotes altered states of consciousness by opening, clearing, energizing and aligning your chakras. How is that for a stone?

Sodalite

Sodalite puts you in touch with your Higher Self by raising the vibration of your conscious mind, which in turn raises your spirtual perception. Your third eye is also stimulated, which aids in meditation.

All of these stones aid you in raising your awareness, aligning chakras, and taking your consciousness to new heights.

Now let's look at a couple that will bring you back down and help to ground you when you are finished with your communications.

Hematite

Black Obsidian

Herbs for Spirit Communications

Lavender

You carry lavender to help see ghosts and it aids in meditation. So it is a perfect herb for communication.

Roses

Roses are useful in enhancing psychic awareness and contacting spirit guides, so they are great added to an incense blend for communication.

Chamomile

Chamomile is good for meditation and helps you learn knowledge of your past lives. It is also very calming.

Mugwort

Mugwort is an excellent spirit herb. It aids in many things: astral projection, divination, intuition, meditation, psychic abilities, spirit guides, and visions.

Wormwood

Since wormwood is in the same family as mugwort it does have some of the same great abilities for communication with spirits. You can use it to summon the dead, open your psychic centers, and divination.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass aids with communication by promoting visions and enhancing your psychic awareness.

Copal

Copal is offered to departed souls during "Day of the Dead" rites, it also clarifies the mind and holds protective influence.

Peppermint

Peppermint is sacred to Hades, so of course it will be included here. It aids in psychic development, dreams, divinations, exorcism, and spirit offering.

Calamus Root

Calamus root is said to make the user be able to "travel for miles without touching the ground". This herb is highly revered by yogis and will enhance your awareness and increase communication. It's yogic name is "Vacha", which means speech. It works on your fifth chakra and helps you to speak from your highest level of consciousness.

Sandalwood

Sandalwood has protective properties so it would be good to include in your incense if you choose to make your own.

Magaly from pagan-culture.blogspot.com graciously sent me pics that she took of her gorgeous Star Anise from the Dominican Republic! Thank you, Magaly. (I'm currently out and couldn't take a pic)
Star Anise

Star Anise is good for not only psychic protection, but also developing and controlling your psychic powers. It aids in contacting other planes, divinations, and exorcisms. It is good for using as a base for any psychic incense.

I hope you have enjoyed all the information. Next week we will talk about making a medicine bag pouch with items for protection against spirits. I will also include incenses and stones for that.

Brightest Blessings,
Loren

The Horror of Talking Boards! Part 2

This article is part of Kallan's wonderful Sunday Stew. Please hop on over and read all the different flavors added by each chef. I know that you will love it!

Bewitched, Season 2, Episode 28 Double Split

Since my last post I had an incident involving a Ouija.....well, not the board itself, but my phone cover, which looks like a Ouija board.

I went to visit a friend on my way home the other evening and she had another visitor. It was a man that I didn't know and I had never met him before. When I first arrived he was sitting in his truck and she and I walked next door to her mom's home to look at the new pool.

We walked back to her driveway to talk for a few minutes, the guy jumps out of his truck to talk to us. She introduced us, we had chitchat, and everything was fine. I got my phone out to show her my son's backflip video on it and the back of the phone with the cover was pointed in the guy's direction. He took one look at it and said "A Ouija board, what have you got that for?" , to which I replied, "Because I like Ouija boards and I collect them" to which he came back with, "Those are of the devil!"  EYEROLLLLL (me). Really? Because they aren't stamped "Made by Satan"  The box plainly says Hasbro.

I won't put the whole thing on here. It led to him telling me that I'm wrong with my beliefs, I have hell waiting for me, me yelling at him, and him apologizing to me later on. Yes, he did apologize, I accepted and told him it was okay. But, I came home, found him on Facebook and decided to go ahead and block him. Especially when it is someone that says that I am going to burn in hell when they are a grown man posting drunk pictures and belly selfies and they are married.  I don't need someone spouting anything on my wall, and I can't stand people like that. One day I am going to have a rant about this kind of stuff.

Anyway, I had a Ouija story to share with you this week, didn't I?

So, this week will be about Ouijas, Spirit boards, and Talking boards on TV.

1. Bewitched Season 2 Episode 28 "Double Split" I had a really hard time finding that picture of Samantha and Louise playing with the Ouija. I own the DVD collection, but I couldn't remember which episode it was. When I did a Google search, it wrongly lists Season 4, Episode 27 "Tabatha's Cranky Spell" as the Ouija episode. It is wrong everywhere. That episode actually has a crystal ball, not a Ouija. The right episode is Season 2, Episode 28 Double Split. I had to read scripts to find out which one it was, play it in the DVD and take the picture of it. I couldn't find one anywhere in the internet. So, there it is, so brief in time, Samantha and Louise  playing the Ouija. The script had them playing Pins, but they switched it to the Ouija for the episode. Nothing bad happens, and actually, no one even mentions it.

Here's the part of the episode that has it.

2. CBS did a small news story about the Ouija. They interviewed a guy with over 500 boards. I would love to have that collection! Here it is:

It's actually not a bad piece, very informative.

3. "Ouija One"- Oddities    This one is fun with a little information.

4. I Love Lucy "The Seance" Season 1 Episode 7
The Ouija only makes a brief appearance in this one, but its a fun episode.

To watch the full episode go here:

5. Charmed Season 1 Episode 1 "Something Wicca This Way Comes"

One of the best scenes. Their spirit board is to die for. Nothing bad happens, of course.

The board also makes an appearance in Season 1 Episode 14 Secrets and Guys. A little boy uses it to communicate with Prue.

6. Dead Like Me "Curious George" Season 1, Episode 3

Georgia's little sister uses it to contact her. It is at the very end of this video. Its a touching scene.

Dead Like Me was an awesome show. Too bad it only lasted two seasons.

7. Married With Children Season 6 Episode 19 "Psychic Avenger"

A silly episode. There is a "Ouija King", that's about it.

8. X-Files Season 3 Episode 13 "Syzygy"

I couldn't find a video clip for this one. This is one of the darker Ouija TV episodes that I've found. Due to a planetary alignment, blaming Satanic cults, and the Ouija tells one of the girls that she is going to marry Satan.

9. A Haunting Season 2 Episode 2 "The Diabolical"

"A Haunting" is a paranormal ghost hunting re-inactment and eyewitness accounts type show.....that they've made into a series. It airs on the Discovery Channel. It features......tah dah.......Ed and Lorraine Warren....in some episodes. Now, you guys don't have to go far in this blog to know that I cannot stand the Warrens. I hate what they stand for, I hate what they do. To see what I'm talking about go here: Disgusting Warrens

Anyway, this episode seems to be about a little girl that cannot walk or talk, but she has the ability to hang out with spirits. A man visits and senses the presence of a spirit and they use a Ouija board....which ends up being a bad thing.

Again, I couldn't find a video. Bummer.

10. Ghost Whisperer Season 5 Episode 14 "Dead To Me"

Margaret Cho stars in this episode as a professor that speaks to her dead fiance by using the spirit board...The video I have found is actually Margaret Cho talking about her role and her very own Ouija board collection. She talks about how she is scared of the board and that she throws out the planchettes! WHAT?! Margaret Cho?! Are you nuts?! Please tell me that by "throwing out" you actually mean sell....you know, for someone that is looking for it??

There are many more TV shows that feature boards, but I think that I've listed some pretty good ones. I am actually surprised how mild TV represents the board. Much better than the horror stories. It does seem to get darker with more modern shows. There are, of course, lots of ghost hunting and paranormal shows that feature the Ouija, but I really did not want to include ALL of those. And 95% of those shows actually blame the spirit boards and witchcraft for the problem they are "investigating" .

I hope you have enjoyed my tour of TV land concerning spirit/Ouija boards and remember if you plan to use a board, do it safely. Don't do it in fear. Don't be a pompous ass. Don't do it with drugs or alcohol. Board responsibly.

Blessings and Light

My Spirit/Talking/Ouija Board Collection

I am a huge spirit/talking board fan. I have an okay sized collection. I don't have any of the old wooden ones...yet, but I'm happy with the ones that I have.

When I started using spirit boards, I was pregnant with my son Brevin. He is turning 14 on Friday, so I have used them off and on for a while.

The first board that I purchased was The Psychic Circle Board. That poor board was run through the ringer with me and my group of friends. We would meet every weekend....anyway, that's another story.

The Psychic Circle is still my favorite board. I have since been through 6 of those. This is my 7th and it is starting to show some wear.

See the wear?

I love this board. The colors, the happiness. When I use one for the first time, it does what I call "whitewashing"........it's a type of cleansing, where the planchette goes over and over in spirals, at the corners, the middle, etc.
It also does this if it has been a while since I used it. But, that is also for another post.

The board is made by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber.

You can purchase one here:

They also make the Enchanted Spellboard. I use it just every now and again and it has gorgeous colors and design.

You can purchase this board here:

Another one they make is The Pathfinder.

You can purchase a pathfinder here:

Amy and Monte make wonderful products. I have quite a few of their items.

The next non-Ouija talking board that I have is one that I had a really hard time getting. It was all over the internet, and then my husband said that I could have it for a Yule present and BOOM, it was nowhere. I ordered from FOUR people, only to be told that it wasn't really in stock. Finally, one of my Facebook friends told me that there was one for sale on Amazon at a reasonable price. I love it because I also collect Buffy comics. I have every Buffy comic, so of course, I had to have this. It is the Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Conversations With Dead People Board. It comes with a little Buffy spirit board comic.

I have since come to love and enjoy the Ouija. There is nothing wrong with this talking board. If you are going to have a session with it and you are scared, don't use it. Its not for you and those scary Ouija stories are just tiring.

The oldest Ouijas that I have are these. I have the super large one and the regular sized one. I'm actually planning on having the larger one framed one day to use as decor.

I think these are 60's 70's era

The back of the box of the larger Ouija:

Here is a site that has some like mine for sale:

My next Ouija is one they put out (ToysRUs exclusive) and people threw a fit over it. See an article here: Ridiculousness It was subsequently phased out.
The board was geared toward tween girls and it came in it's own carry case. You know, for slumber parties. It also came with cards with suggested questions. They have things like: "Will I be rich one day",  "Who is thinking of me right now", and "At what age will I get married"

I love the bubble lettering on the board. One of my friends remarked that it looks like an accessory for Witch Barbie.

Don't you just love it?!

Next is Glow-in-the-dark Ouija. SpooooOOOOoooky! I haven't really tried to see if it glows. I may need to stick it in the freezer to activate the glow.

Next  is the NEWEST Ouija! It just came out! I love the design and the board feels rough, not slick like the others. It kind of makes me think of an older type fortune teller's board.

The planchette takes batteries. It lights up with a ghostly purple glow. When I first put the batteries in the lights stayed on and I had to press the reset button to make it work right. There is no on/off switch on the planchette. When you rest your fingers on it, it activates the light, then when you lift your fingers, the light goes off. It makes the planchette thick and kind of heavy. I haven't tried out the board yet, I'm hoping to soon.

I tried to capture the ghostly purple glow, but it was too light in here.

See the thickness of the planchette?

You can get one here:

My next one has the Ouija name, but it isn't a board. ...and I don't really like it. It is the Ouija Oracle Card Game. I give it a MEH rating.

My next one, is from a kit: The Compleat Fortune Teller Kit by The Pacific Game Company made in 1975. It has 10 ancient arts and the "spirit board" is a contact sheet that you would stick to a wood board to make it an actual board. Mine is unused and still rolled up in the box. I had to put a couple of knick-knacks on it to hold it down so that I could take a pic.

The planchette is at the top of it next to the box (I'm sure you recognized it) and it is made of plastic. The whole kit is pretty neat.

Here's the back showing the peel off part:

Here's one like my kit, that is currently for sale on Ebay:

And finally, here are some books that I have enjoyed reading and find useful. I especially love Christian Day's book, The Witches' Book of the Dead. I also love My Friend, The Ouija Board by Virginia Kent Roberts. She describes several things in it that I have had happen to me while on the board. This book is very had to find. If you find it, grab it, because it didn't publish for very long at all.

I hope you enjoyed my "tour" of my Ouija and Spirit boards. I will enjoy all questions and comments, but I don't want to hear any ridiculous demon possession stories. I have used these for over 13 years and I have not had any problems with them.
